South Korea suspends sales of Chinese carrots due to pesticide concerns

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in South Korea has initiated actions to suspend and recall Chinese carrot products after tests revealed pesticide levels exceeding the regulatory limit by fivefold.

Specifically, an analysis found 0.05mg/kg of "Triadimephon," a pesticide residue, in a 10kg batch of "Fresh Carrots" (production year 2024) distributed by "Hong Farm," an importer of agricultural goods. This level surpasses the established safety threshold of 0.01 mg/kg. In response to these findings, the Ministry has advised consumers who have purchased these carrots to return them to their point of sale.
