The Uzbekistani government has implemented a resolution titled "Measures to Regulate the Export of Fruit and Vegetable Products in the Republic." According to this decree, starting from May 1 of the current year, the country will initiate monitoring of export contract prices for fruit and vegetable products, along with controlling the formation of export prices based on a list approved through established procedures.
The list of fruit and vegetable products with recommended minimum export prices will be approved by the Government Commission on Investment Attraction, Industrial Development, and Trade Regulation.
Several factors will influence the establishment of minimum export prices:
- prices in external markets reported by Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions abroad;
- prices announced in the media;
- export prices obtained from foreign trade companies and overseas offices of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade;
- prices derived from inquiries sent to local and foreign trading companies;
- wholesale and retail prices of fruit and vegetable products in the domestic market.
In cases where the export price is found to be undervalued by more than 20 percent compared to the recommended price in the list, the Customs Committee must notify the Tax Committee and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes at the General Prosecutor's Office within 1 day through the electronic information exchange system.
This resolution has come into effect.
