More international border gates to open along Vietnam-China border

The two pairs of border gates are located along the Vietnam-China border, specifically in the region where Lao Cai borders Yunnan province. They are Muong Khuong - Kieu Dau and Ban Vuoc - Pa Sa, which are in Lao Cai’s Bat Xat district. Lao Cai will then have three pairs of bilateral border gates, making it easier for customs clearance activities.

Recent data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade reveals a significant surge, in agricultural product exports, through the Lao Cai border gate; as of mid-October, agricultural product exports through the border gate in Lao Cai rose more than 370%. Among the main export items are dragon fruit, banana, rambutan, watermelon, cassava and mangosteen.
