Portugal negotiates opening of Thailand’s pear market

Portugal is negotiating the opening of the pear export market to Thailand, with teams from the country having already visited orchards and fruit centers in Portugal. A spokesperson from the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary said: "An audit by the Thai Department of Agriculture took place from the 18th to the 21st of September as part of the ongoing negotiation process for the establishment of a phytosanitary protocol between the DGAV and the Thai counterpart service".

The Thai audit team visited orchards and fruit centers in the West region, accompanied by DGAV and the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo.
