In orchards in Uzbekistan, the process of collecting sweet cherries continues

According to the Statistics, among the regions that exported sweet cherries to far abroad countries from January to June 2022, the Fergan region was in the lead with 12.4 thousand tons. In 2023, Fergan's farmers are aiming for even higher goals.

In general, the farms cultivate two varieties which are intended for export. Sweet cherries are mainly exported to China, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. Starting this year, contracts have been signed to supply 70 % of the crop to the Russian Federation.

The fact that the volume of fruits and vegetables grown in the country exceeds the population's needs and is sent to external markets vividly demonstrates the effective activities of peasant and farming households. This, in turn, plays an important role in increasing Uzbekistan's export potential.
