Nearly 5,000 tons of kiwiruit from New Zealand arrived at Nangang port on Friday

This Friday, the year's first batch of nearly 5,000 tons of kiwi fruits from New Zealand arrived at Shanghai Nangang port. This marks the full recovery of chartered freight fruit shipment in Shanghai since COVID restrictions in China were eased. In order to ensure the fast and safe customs clearance of fruits, local authorities have carried out measures that have greatly increased clearance efficiency.

VP Ivan Kinsella from Zespri China said: "It was basically a slow-down during the pandemic period. But this year, with everything open again, we're looking forward to a very good year. Today, we'll be using a new inspection warehouse that'll greatly increase the efficiency of the fruit as it comes in. All the records are digitalized, and from here, the fruits will be distributed across the country. We just recently took the lease on this facility here for the next eight years. This is a sign of a long-term plan that we have developed with Shanghai Nangang port."
