Help cutting costs and improving working efficiencies

"Adaptation to automatic packaging machines is one of the main trends"

“Our largest challenge is to coordinate with growers in order to cut costs and improve working efficiencies in the packing houses. Our solutions help growers to extend the shelf-life of their products and protect the product within the bags. Our PE raschel bags on roll and PP Leno wicketed bags are ideal for automatic packing lines,” says Tina Mao from Ningbo Yongfeng Packaging Co.Ltd, brand-named YEPP.

“Growers can benefit from our specialized eco- construction packaging products to help preserve product quality and nutritional values of the crop during prolonged storage and long-haul shipping. We specialize in automatic packing lines for which our products are tailored.  We produce food grade plastic mesh bags and fabrics. Our advantage is that our products can be used for vegetables, fruits, sea foods, firewood and other agricultural applications. We use virgin raw materials, including PP, PE and recycled food grades of PP and PE”, continues Tina.

The two main trends the industry focusses on are lowering packaging weight and adapting to automatic packaging machines. Recyclable and compostable packaging is also becoming more popular, with the growth of the circular economy. Many countries are also introducing policies to shift away from single-use plastic products.

“Our continuous roll bags are convenient and efficient for our clients as they can run on standard poly bag filling equipment. Our bag design consists of a horizontal band that wraps around the middle of the bag. This band gives ample space for branding, graphics and product messaging. There is an option of band in our roll stock bags, which accommodates any customized design up to 6 multi-colors. The bags are formed and separated using a vertical heating element in the inter-knitted part of the bags, that ensures the bags have strong edges. Produce flows through the fixed filling holes and into the bag which is carried on a support belt. The bag is then conveyed to an industrial sewing unit that provides a stitched closure. A second heat seal is then applied at the end of the line make the final separation of the formed bag from the roll stock,” Tina explains the production and packing process.

Major advantages of this packaging system are saving labor costs and improving packing efficiency. Tina continues: “Our combination provides automatic feeding control and packaging production lines. This solves high labor costs such as for manual weighing and labeling. In addition, the waste of automatic packing lines is up to 1.5 times lower than for manual packing lines.”

Yepp’s polymesh bag products can be used on all fully automatic bagging machines. The company can provide customized solutions for each customer adjusting size, labeling, and colors of the mesh.

“Our company currently focusses on markets with modern agriculture facilities that include standardized, large-scale automatic packing plants. However, our raschel net bags, leno mesh bags and shade nets can be used widely for agricultural application worldwide. Currently we are active in the EU, Russia and North American markets. Our products have been used on the Manter SemiPack Bagger and ERC Packaging equipment for over ten years,” concludes Tina.

Ningbo Yongfeng Packaging Co.Ltd has a thirty-five year old history.  The company has a production facility in Ningbo, Western China, and in Vietnam. It specializes in the leno mesh bags, raschel mesh bags, woven bags and shade nets.
