Last year, there was a noticeable trend towards an increase in demand for Ukrainian products outside the country.
Such observations are shared by Maria Lakeyeva, an expert on the fruit and vegetable market of Ukraine, AgroTimes reports.
"First of all, this trend is caused by a large number of Ukrainians abroad who want to buy products from their country. Secondly, both for our compatriots abroad and for EU residents, buying Ukrainian is showing support for Ukrainian business and the country as a whole," she explains.
According to her, this trend is also confirmed by the activity at the stands of Ukrainian manufacturers at international exhibitions.
In general, it is still too early to assess Ukraine's export opportunities for this season due to the fact that it is complicated by the difficulties of logistics during the war. The expert believes, however that the prospects are not bad.
"Export-oriented farms tried to preserve the quality of apples, and they really have an offer of export quality," summarizes Lakeyeva.
