Vietnamese durians fill the gap of fresh durians in the Chinese market

The first batch of fresh Vietnamese durians will be available in Pagoda this weekend

On September 17, Vietnam officially exported fresh durians to China for the first time. According to reports, the director of the Plant Protection Bureau at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, Huang Trung, said that under an agreement signed between the two countries, the first containers of durians would be shipped from Vietnam to China.

The export ceremony of the first batch of Vietnamese durians was held in Krong Pac District, Dak Lak Province, and the first batch of 100 tons of durians was shipped to China. According to reports, there were about 20 containers of durians officially exported to China. As the weight of a container is about 18 tons, the total weight of durian is about 360 tons. Among them, there were 6 containers of durians that underwent quarantine and customs clearance on the 17th, with a total volume of more than 100 tons, from 5 exporters.

Pagoda imported a total of three containers of Vietnamese durians, which were transported to Shekou, Shenzhen by sea. It is estimated that the fruits will be available in 5-6 days in the stores of Pagoda.

In terms of durians exported to the Chinese market, Thailand is still the dominant country on the whole. Thailand is the first country qualified to export fresh durians to China, and Vietnam is the second. Currently, Malaysia can only export frozen durians to China. Recently, there has been a lot of rain in Thailand, and the quality of durians was unstable. The trade cost was also high.

It is convenient to import Vietnamese durian. It is the golden pillow durian harvest season in the Ba Mei Shu area from August to October. The price is relatively cheap and the quality is good. Therefore, for Chinese consumers, it is the main sales window of the Vietnamese golden pillow durian from August to October and Vietnamese durian fills the gap of fresh durian in the entire Chinese market.
