This is the first time long jujubes from Lingwu are exported to the Middle East and Europe

The long jujube from Lingwu is an excellent jujube variety with a large fruit and an elongated shape. The average weight of long jujubes is around 12.5-24g. The flavor of fresh jujube is beautiful. Their texture is crisp. This particular variety was first cultivated during the late Tang period [618-907] and is known as the 'imperial tribute'. The Ministry of Agriculture awarded this jujube variety with a national registration of geographical indication for agricultural products in 2016.

Baotong Science and Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereafter F365 Cross-border) helped Lingwu long jujube farmers export their products to Dubai and the Netherlands in October this year. They received great consumer feedback.

F365 Cross-Border assisted the long jujube growers of Lingwu with the export of their products. The export was entrusted to Western Region Fertile Fields Ecological Agriculture. Jason, the spokesperson for overseas projects at F365 Cross-Border, talked about the conditions in Lingwu long jujube plantations. "The Lingwu long jujubes are a regional specialty product from Lingwu City in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The overall surface area devoted to their plantation exceeds 4,533 hectares. This is an early-season variety that enters the market every year in April. The production season continues until the end of October. The production volume declined by nearly 40% in 2021 due to unfavorable weather conditions. However, the product quality steadily improved, so that the production value remained more or less the same. The production volume declined, but market demand remained strong, and the purchase price in production areas nearly doubled."

"Lingwu long jujubes first sold in overseas markets in 2020 when they were exported to Thailand. Western Region Fertile Fields Ecological Agriculture is the only long jujube grower with a packaging facility that exports Lingwu long jujubes. They carefully supervise every aspect of the production process to make sure they meet all the requirements for export fruit and stay within the limits of chemical residue and heavy metals. The company has always worked through intermediaries. Chinese exporters purchased the jujubes and exported them to overseas markets. They were not in direct contact with their overseas clients and received no feedback on their products. F365 Cross-Border helped the company to set up direct contact. F365 Cross-Border helped Western Region Fertile Fields export 10 tons of Lingwu long jujubes to Dubai and the Netherlands. F365 Cross-Border helped improve the efficiency of communication between the Chinese producer and overseas clients. This helped Western Regions Fertile Fields better understand the true needs of their clients through quick and efficient feedback.

Fruit exporters struggle with various consequences of the pandemic including limited shipping capacity and companies that only slowly recover. Jason explained, "we are of course affected by the pandemic and its impact on the global market for agricultural products. Preventative measures as well as limited shipping capacity put a lot of pressure on fruit export. And offline fruit export underwent fundamental changes.

"Traditional offline sales channels are disrupted and many exporters and sellers have switched to online channels. Overseas buyers also lack the opportunities to visit China and personally inspect products or negotiate with strategic partners. Online platforms help both parties exchange information. The volume of online inquiries has greatly increased for us, and that also indicates an expansion of the demand volume. We visit production areas 1-2 months in advance to draw up an elaborate export plan. We offer them close supervision of their products from the production area to the overseas market."

When asked about the advantages of their company, Jason replied: "We have branch offices in Dubai and the Netherlands. That makes it much easier for us to distribute Chinese fresh produce in these markets and to quickly get a thorough understanding of the clients' real needs. The Lingwu long jujubes are distributed in Dubia via Carrefour, Spinneys, LIDI, Kaufland, Albert Heijn, Jumbo, and One Day One Group," said Jason. "F365 Cross-Border promotes premium Chinese fresh produce among a growing number of overseas traders to bring more Chinese growers in direct contact with overseas traders and expand the profit margin for both parties."

F365 Cross-Border is deeply rooted in the Chinese fresh produce industry. The company provides a digital B2B service platform for companies in Chinese agricultural production areas as well as overseas buyers. The company provides a range of services including business trust management, collection and distribution, brand marketing, financial operations, cross-border distribution, customs and tax refunds, and other export-related services. F365 Cross-Border helps Chinese agricultural companies overcome obstacles in the market and brings them in touch with diverse clients.
