Influx of fresh late kharif onions increases

The arrival of late kharif (autumn) onions has been growing gradually at Lasalgaon APMC, India’s largest wholesale market for onions.

Out of the 50% of the 800 tons of onions auctioned on Monday were fresh late kharif onions. These onion crops were badly hit due to rains in September. The arrival of kharif onions began from mid-October, but it was delayed by a month due to rains.
