Kulgam district reviews traffic plan for fruit transportation

Recently, District Development Commissioner (DDC) for Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi ud-Din Bhat, has chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the steady transportation of fruit crops to outside of the Valley. The DDC directed the officials to strictly enforce traffic diversion plans, particularly during the peak fruit season. He impressed upon the officers to sensitize officials at checking points for better regulation and management of traffic for smooth passage of fruit trucks.

Highlighting the need for effective coordination, Dr Bilal impressed upon the officers to form a team of officials at various checkpoints in districts for identification of fruit trucks and their proper passage. He also directed the ARTO Kulgam to explore the possibility of an application via which fruit trucks can register themselves.

On the occasion, representatives of fruit mandis raised several issues with the DDC regarding fruit crops and other issues. The DDC assured them that all their genuine issues will be looked into and addressed on priority.
