The Peruvian company Agricola Cerro Prieto (ACP) plans to double its table grape exports in the 2020/2021 season, which runs from October to January, over the previous season, marketing 6,000 tons.
The general manager of the company, Alfredo Lira Chirif, said this increase was due to the fact that new areas of cultivation were entering into production.
ACP currently has 225 hectares of table grapes, Lira stated. All of the table grapes planted are of patented seedless varieties and are located in Chepen (La Libertad). The company seeks to increase the area of table grapes in that area in 2021.
“So far, the crops are good. All the plants are pruned and have good vigor. We hope to have a good season this year,” he said.
