Chinese pumpkin price is on the rise

The price of pumpkins showed an increasing trend this week. The current supply of pumpkins mainly comes from Hainan. This week's price increased in comparison with last week. The reasons for this development are as follows: first, the supply volume from production areas is shrinking. The pumpkin production seasons in Guangxi, Yunnan, and Hubei finished in March. Even the supply from Hainan is approaching the end. Visiting traders compete to purchase the last pumpkins, and this is the main reason for the price increase. Second, pumpkins from Hainan are more expensive because transport takes longer and transport cost is therefore higher.

Production areas in Yunnan and Hainan are expected to provide large volumes of pumpkins again after April, and the price will then come down.
