Ecuador: Amanda Michelle banana plantation rated best in the country

The Amanda Michelle plantation was rated as the best banana producer in Ecuador.

Dole, through its representatives in Ecuador, gave recognition to the work conducted at the Amanda Michelle
plantation for the quality of its banana production.

The quality of Amanda Michelle's bananas, distributed at national level from the plantation, is the result of the effort workers made despite the difficulties brought by the winter.

Export targets

The export targets to destinations such as the United States, Italy and northern Europe were all met, according to the General Manager of the firm, Peter Gilmore.

Carlos Zambrano, one of the plantation's workers, expressed his satisfaction for this recognition and emphasised the importance of the work he does along with his colleagues, as well as their attention to detail, to remain the country's best quality producers.

Social commitments

As part of the firm's social commitments, several programmes are developed through the Dole Foundation, especially in the fields of health, education and community development with protection for the workers and their families, affirmed the director of the Foundation, MarĂa Eugenia Castro.
