Following the integration of MBF Savannah operations, De Mooij Amsterdam is taking the next step in professionalising and expanding its import lines from Kenya.

Recently, the team visited the cultivation locations in Kenya to shape the next phase of development and quality improvement together with the local partner. In this cooperation, which involves growing exclusively for De Mooij, a reliable and high-quality chain of fresh pulses is being further developed.

All products are packaged under the familiar Savannah brand. The range consists of haricot verts, sugar snap peas, mangetout, and peas. The standard packaging is 12x250 grams, but customer-specific requirements are also flexibly met.

These include consumer packs of 150 and 500 grams, or bulk packs of 5 kg. The possibilities are broad, and De Mooij will actively highlight them in the market in the coming period.

To guarantee year-round availability, two growing locations are used: One in the region around Mount Kenya and one in the Maasai Mara area. Both regions offer favourable climatic conditions and have reliable water sources.

Thanks to a streamlined process of harvesting, packaging, and air freight, De Mooij receives fresh produce in the Netherlands several times a week. This enables the company to supply retail, foodservice, and wholesale customers with daily fresh quality products from Kenya.
