The Councillor of Agriculture, Rural Development, Environment and Energy, José Antonio Echávarri, highlighted the good prospects for tomato production in Extremadura, as it may well surpass the contracted volumes by 20 to 30%.
During his visit, the Councillor had a meeting with Pronat's leadership team, who conveyed him their optimism about the campaign.
Echávarri pointed out that the beginning of the harvest has been delayed by ten days due to weather conditions, and emphasised the importance of a sector in which the production will surpass by 1.23 million tonnes the volumes that had been contracted.
