"Thriving banana plantations become Saudi Arabia's new pride"

In the southwestern region of Saudi Arabia, the Al-Baha's Thee Ain village, renowned for its stunning architecture, is now gaining recognition for its flourishing banana plantations. These plantations have grown into a significant tourist draw, bolstering local economic growth.

Contrary to expectations, the unique climate of Al-Baha, marked by elevated altitudes and cooler temperatures, has proven conducive to successful banana farming. The bananas cultivated here are smaller, but are celebrated for their superior taste and fragrance.

Abdulrahman Al-Amri, a resident farmer, notes that these bananas have a unique aroma that differentiates them from other varieties. The banana trees, aged between eight to ten years, are harvested every 20 days, ensuring a constant supply of these sought-after fruits.
