During the first half of the year, Argentina's pear exports increased by 17%

According to information shared by the National Food Health Service (Senasa), Argentina exported 252,252 tons of pears during the first half of 2023, i.e. 17% more than the 215,986 tons it exported in the same period of 2022.

The main markets were Brazil with 90,113 tons, Russia with 52,486 tons, the United States with 41,817 tons, Italy with 12,728 tons, and Mexico with 11,886 tons.

In the first half of the year, Argentina produced a total of 543,617 tons of pears. 201,956 tons were allocated to the juice industry (37%) and another 89,409 tons were sent to the domestic market (16%).

SENASA also reported that during the first half of 2023, the county exported 43,925 tons of apples, i.e. 26% more than the 34,851 tons exported in the same period of 2022.

The total production volume reached 349,770 tons, 126,745 of which (36%) were sent to the domestic market and 179,101 tons (51%) to the industrial sector.

Senasa also reported that the provinces of Chubut, Neuquen, Rio Negro, and Santa Cruz had exported 4,293.7 tons of cherries in the 2022/2023 season, i.e. about 898.4 tons less than the 5,192.1 tons exported in the 2021/2022 season.
