Arctic journey of Maersk vessel

On 22 August 2018, Maersk Liner vessel Venta Mærsk left the port of Vladivostok in Russia. Instead of taking the usual route through the Suez Canal, the container ship was heading to St. Petersburg via the Northern Sea Route (NSR).

For the first time, Maersk was going to test the cold water of the Arctic but thorough planning and careful preparations were necessary before the journey started.
