Vietnam’s lychee exports increased 126 percent this year

Vietnam saw strong growth in its lychee exports and the number of enterprises exporting lychees this year, said the General Department of Customs.

Vietnamese enterprises exported more than 92,000 tons of lychee, earning $40.8 million. Those figures showed a year-on-year increase of 172 per cent in volume and 126 percent in value.

The department said of the lychee crop this year, that Vietnamese lychees were shipped to 27 countries and territories around the world, an increase of 8 countries compared to 2017. The lychee exports to China accounted for 90.7 percent of Vietnam’s total lychee exports in this year.

The General Department of Customs also said that the number of enterprises exporting lychees this year has doubled against 2017. This year, 97 enterprises exported lychees.
