Huge rise in value of Turkish fresh produce exports to Russia in 2018

The value of Turkish fruit and vegetable exports to Russia during the first six months of this year increased from 187 million dollars to 318 million dollars compared to the same period a year earlier.

Russia was the top importer of peaches from Turkey during that semester, as well as the second largest of apples, cherries, apricots and pomegranates, as reported by the Uludag Federation of Exporters of the Turkish province of Bursa.

The total value of Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable shipments during the period at hand amounted to $ 1,175 million, an increase of 23% compared to the same period in 2017.

Between January and June this year, Russia absorbed 21% of all Turkish fruit and vegetable exports.
