"This will "track" the entire route that apple trees from BiH should pass on their way to Russia," said BiH Foreign trade minister, Mirko Sarovic. "I am sure that BiH will be removed from the Russian list of banned countries for the trade of apples very soon," he added .
According to Bojan Kecman from the Ministry of Agriculture-Republic of Srpskahis, "This year will be fantastic for fruit growers in the Republic of Srpska, after an increase in the production areas for apples, pears and plums. Around 1,800 hectares of new plantations have been planted in the last five years. We expect very good yields and good fruit quality."

The fruit prices in BiH are lower than in most European countries. Fruit producers are anxiously awaiting the plum harvest which will start very soon, followed by early pears and apples.
