Apple prices rose significantly in June. In the middle of that month, the average price per kilo stood at CZK 43.14 (1.65 Euro), as revealed by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO). Apples were 30 percent more expensive than a year earlier.

The most expensive apples were bought by consumers in the Karlovy Vary Region, where the average price per kilo stood at 49.73 crowns (1.90 Euro). The fruit was also expensive in the Ústí nad Labem Region, where each kilo cost an average of 48.79 crowns (1.87 Euro).

On the other hand, in the Pardubice region, the fruit's price stood far below average, as each kilo cost 38.23 crowns (1.46 Euro). The price also stayed under 40 crowns in the Zlín region, where each kilo cost 39.98 crowns (1.53 Euro).
