Brahim Idoujaa, Flora Fruits:

"Most of our Moroccan truffles are exported to Qatar and Saudi Arabia"

The Moroccan export company Flora Fruits offers a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Brahim Idoujaa, owner of the company: "We grow everything in Morocco and export our products to Russia, European countries such as France and the Netherlands, and African countries such as Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Burkina Faso.

Among other items, Flora Fruits also offers truffles. Brahim: "All our truffles are produced in Southern Morocco. This year it has rained a lot, and therefore we had a very high production. Most of our truffles are exported to Qatar and Saudi Arabia. In these countries there is a high demand for luxury products. Not everyone uses truffles to make an omelet."

"The prices of our truffles are too high for the Moroccan market," says Brahim. "There are only few people in Morocco who buy them, and this is why we export them, as we do with the majority of our products."

It wasn't only a good year for the truffles: the rain also caused a high production of the other crops offered by Flora Fruits. Brahim: "We offer almost everything: citrus, the Charentais melon, pumpkins, tomatoes, zucchini, red, yellow and green peppers and much more. A lot of our tomatoes are exported to Russia."
