New hire, new tech, and network expansion for avocado marketer

Index Fresh says its mission is to consistently provide quality service and continuously adopt innovative ways to better the company’s commitment to building relationships. With this in mind, the worldwide avocado marketer is fine-tuning its transport operations through an addition to the logistics team, technological changes and expanding partnerships and network.

“We have a very good relationship with our brokers and carriers that currently transport our products to customers, both inbound and outbound,” said Abdoulie Jobe, Logistics Manger at Index Fresh (top, right). “So, as I join the company, we want to make sure that we continue to have processes in place to fine-tune operations in terms of providing competitive freight rates and timely delivery of products in the right temperature environment to our customers.”

Index Fresh made a new addition to its logistics team this month, with Abdoulie (Abdul) Jobe filling the newly-created role of Logistics Manager. Jobe has spent the last 23 years in supply chain, logistics and distribution management for high profile companies such as El Pollo Loco, Carl’s Jr. and CEVA Logistics.

“The knowledge he has gained over the years in distribution management will prove invaluable for Index Fresh as he begins to reshape our transportation department,” said Todd Elder, Vice President of Sales at Index Fresh (pictured right). “He has vast experience in transportation business development, complemented with high caliber general management qualifications that will support various teams at the company.”

Starting this month, the company will equip its trucks with a tracking system, that will provide location and temperature monitoring. This technology will provide real-time data to customers about their orders. During the next two years, Index Fresh will implement other new programs to continue its quality service to customers.

“We’re also expanding our carrier network to not only include our current brokerage firms, but to blend in active base carriers as well. This will enable us to have the most competitive freight rates for our customers and expand our outreach to other geographical areas that we don’t currently service,” said Elder.
