China: Henan green pepper price shows upward trend

The price of green peppers in the Wanbang Market showed an overall upward trend this week. The price of peppers this year is higher than last year. The main reason for this development is the current low temperatures in Hainan and the northeast of China. The entire vegetable production is influenced by this weather, which leads to relatively high prices. The current green pepper supply to the market is dominated by Hainan. The green pepper volume that entered the market this week was evidently smaller than last week. Production areas are entering the last phase of production and it is expected that sales will continue until the Qingming Festival [Thursday, April 5th, 2018] is over.
