Good season for Arancia di Ribera DOP

"Another good season for Arancia di Ribera DOP, which was very successful on both the domestic and foreign markets thanks to its high-quality. Prices were also good," explains Paolo Parlapiano, sales manager for Parlapiano Fruit, a Sicilian company specialising in blonde oranges.

The campaign was rather good thanks to the exceptional quality that satisfied both traders and final consumers.

"Thanks to the work carried out to improve our production and quality, we managed to conquer an interesting share of the market: ie consumers who are willing to spend something more for a superior product grown according to strict specifications."

"Oranges from other parts of the world don't have the same organoleptic qualities. Just consider that the preference accorded to us by our customers has made it possible to work on a significant commercialisation project under distributor brands and occupy a prestigious position on the shelves of leading retail chains."

Vaniglia oranges have also been rather successful during the past season. It's s sub-acidic variety without the sour note typical of citrus fruit, meaning it's very sweet and easily digestible.

"Vaniglia oranges were also appreciated by our partners and especially by consumers. They're perfect for kids and also for those who can't usually eat citrus fruit due to their acidity."

"We are waiting for Consorzio di Tutela dell'Arancia di Ribera DOP to announce the official end of the season in order to have the final data. So far, we have calculated a 40% increase in volumes compared to the past season."
