A report from Credit Suisse states that the number of Chinese with a medium income has already reached 109 million. This exceeds the 92 million people in The United States with a medium income. The management consulting company McKinsey & Company estimate that in 2020 almost 400 million Chinese will have a medium income. More than half this group will have an annual income between 106 thousand yuan [16,716 USD] and 229 thousand yuan [36,113 USD]. In other words, their purchasing power is growing stronger. This development in the annual income circumstances is obvious in the food consumption trends: people pay more attention to their health and to fine-quality food products.
