Leafy greens grower-shipper spreads wreaths across America

WP Rawl, grower, processor and shipper of leafy greens continued their annual tradition of spreading Wreaths Across America in remembrance of fallen U.S. Veterans this December.

Each year on National Wreaths Across America Day over 1,200 locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad continue the tradition of the laying of the wreaths as a mission to Remember, Honor and Teach. During the annual wreath-laying ceremonies, wreaths are laid on the graves of fallen veterans. Volunteers who place a wreath on a veteran's grave are encouraged to say that veteran's name aloud and take a moment to thank them for their service to our country. This small act goes a long way toward keeping the memory of our veterans alive.

Throughout the years, WP Rawl has continued their support for the organization by donating its services along with sponsoring wreaths to be laid on the fallen veterans’ graves at the local Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, S.C.

For the second year, WP Rawl also participated in the Honor Fleet, sending a dedicated truck along with a 53-foot reefer trailer to Columbia Falls, Maine to pick up a dedicated load of wreaths. The trailer was beautifully wrapped with an image of a national cemetery and Wreaths Across America messaging in hopes to spread awareness for the organization along the round trip journey from South Carolina to Maine. Along with hundreds of other volunteer trucking companies, the WP Rawl truck was responsible for carrying thousands of wreaths to the Beaufort National Cemetery in South Carolina for the annual laying of the wreaths this past Saturday.

“Wreaths Across America is an organization that we hold close to our heart. Many of our Rawl family members and family of employees are veterans,” said Ashley Rawl, vice president of sales, marketing and product development. “It was a privilege for our company to be part of the Honor Fleet again this year, as we remember our fallen Veterans and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy today.”
