"Complete turn-key projects for washing potatoes"

The Van Dijke Group from Sint-Philipsland has been specialised in designing, developing and producing machines to wash carrots, potatoes and other fruit and vegetable products. "In the first period the company was mainly active in the flower bulb sector. Over the last fifteen years the focus has shifted to the fruit and vegetable sector, in which potatoes are the main product. We are strong in turn-key solutions with washers, de-stoners, wet leaf removers, dryers, filtration screens, water recycling and dirt drainage systems," says operations manager Pieter Flikweert.

Over the last ten years Van Dijke has considerably expanded the product range to be able to offer a complete turnkey washing line for fruit and vegetable products. "Besides a good quality, the focus in the products is on an extremely low water usage and a smart drainage system. This is how we define ourselves in the market. Compared to other systems in the market our machines save up to 95% water. We have supplied complete washing lines that only use 5 m^3 clean water for forty tonnes of product per hour," says Pieter.

"Our machines are supplied and active across the globe. We have supplied complete machines in Canada, America, South America, Australia and New Zealand, we have dealerships for this world wide," says Pieter. "Our equipment can run 'stand alone', but is also prepared to be used in a complete line. We think from the start to the delivery, including water recycling equipment, piping, gutters and supply and drainage systems."

This year Van Dijke Group is present as a stallholder at the Potato Europe for the first time, held in Emmeloord on 13 and 14 September. At stall #V444 the company will present its newest development in the area of rinsing.
