Italy: The pumpkin season has started in Scafati

The pumpkin season has started in Scafati. "Volumes are limited at the moment and the average prices should keep around €0.70-0.80/kg throughout June. Demand is good and larger quantities will become available after June 24th or 25th," explained Giuseppe Ventura, manager at La Zucca Rossa di Ventura.

"The flavour combines all the characteristics of the territory where it is produced. In addition, we can consider it an elite product."

"The market has been good so far and consumption increases in summer, as pumpkin adapts well to various recipes. This fresh produce meets consumer tastes really well."
