Egypt sells its lemons in Italy

The production of Egyptian lemons ranges from the Adalia variety to the Sheairy, and Balady varieties. Most of them are grown in large tracts of land, and the production yields large volumes spread throughout the 12 months of the year.

"We can deliver more than 20 tons a year and we are still growing," said Karima Abdelmawla, head of Hitac Trading. This Egyptian company is in full expansion mode. It recently started selling its product in the Italian market, where they know that their first quality lemons are well received.

"Hitac Trading has only existed for 12 years, but we are sure that, working hard, Europe in general will be our next step," Abdelmawla stated.

Hitac Trading offers its customers a wide variety of packaging that adapts to the requested kilos as well as to specific carton sizes. "We are totally flexible because it is our way of competing with the rest of the producers - we want to be different," said Abdelmawla.
