Peru quadruples frozen avocado exports to Israel

According to Peru's Commercial Office (OCEX) in Tel Aviv, Peru quadrupled its frozen avocado exports to Israel last year, as they went from US $0.3 million in 2015 to $1.3 million in 2016.

The surplus is attributed to the climate and the Israeli lifestyle, which favours the rapid preparation of food and a growth of the restaurant/hotel sector - which is a good opportunity for Peruvian exporters who can offer quality fruits and vegetables.

To promote Peru's exports to Israel, the OCEX in Tel Aviv is going to implement a strategy to develop new markets and invite entrepreneurs from Israel to the Expoalimentaria 2017 fair, which will be held in Lima.

Avocado and mango are the most demanded products in Israel due to their flavor and good texture.
