Thailand exports 100% of its mangosteen production

Thailand is one of the largest producers of this fruit worldwide and the areas where it is cultivated are diverse, especially in the South. To date, the Asian markets, as well as North America, are the major consumers of mangosteen from Thailand.

This product's price isn't stable as it depends on the quantity available in the market, which is unpredictable, stated Christine Pecharalum, the person in charge of sales at CP EXPORT & SERVICE LTD. "The current price ranges between 150 and 190 baht (THB) - the national currency - per kilo," Pecharalum stated.

The mangosteen is a well known fruit that is grown in various parts of the world. Thus, producers face a great competition, Pecharalum said. "However, we try to maintain our quality and service standards to remain competitive in the market."
