China: Vegetables from various regions sell poorly
Along with the diversification of consumption and demand, an increasing number of consumers, who pay attention to quality of life issues, have chosen to eat organic vegetables. Data from a research report, released by the research center Bosi, illustrates that the demand for organic vegetables in China is mainly based in the regions of Beijing and Tianjin and the Yangzi River Delta area. In the future, the consumption of organic vegetables is likely to present an explosive growth. Forecasts state a growth rate of 20% prior to 2020. Until then, the demand for organic vegetables in China is expected to rise to approximately 100 million tons.
