Kronen announces three new processing machines

Kronen has announced a new line of machines they hope will help modernize processing possibilities for lettuce, fruit and vegetables and to increase automation int he industry.

Spirello 150
Kronen's first machine is the Spirello 150 which is a vegetable spiral cutting machine.
The machine can cut large quantities of vegetables into decorative spirals. (such as carrots, potatoes, pumpkins, radishes, beetroots, zucchini, celeriac etc.).

According to Kronen the machine can operate at 680 revolutions per minute and cuts vegetables within seconds into meter-long spirals, which optionally can be shortened with a length limit knife by interval switchings (7 levels).

The machine is equipped with removable magazines, one of which can be fitted with the raw product while the vegetable in the second magazine is processed to allow uninterrupted operation.

Gewa XL
The new Gewa XL washing machine washes large quantities of salads and vegetables, with low energy and water consumption. According to the company it is best characterized in particular by its more compact design, energy efficiency, powerful and gentle washing, increased product shelf life and a dwell time of 45 seconds. The machine comes with a sand trap, insect removal system, filter screen and a water management system.

Mango Peeler-de-Cheeker
Another highlight will be the Mango Peeler-de-Cheeker from ZTI-Mechatronics which has been nominated for the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award 2017. This fully automatic machine peels the mango and removes the "cheeks“ in one cycle (30 up to 40 pieces per minute). Once the fruit has been positioned the machine takes the mango by the stone and it passes through the peeling and destoning stations.

"The mango is a very tender fruit and so demands special care in processing. Conventional peeling methods fail to provide the desired result, as the fruit is often damaged. Due to the unique processing method, the Mango Peeler-de-Cheeker holds the fruit not on the outside, by the fruit, but by the stone" Kronen claimed.

Kronen will be presenting all of their new machines at Fruit Logistica 2017 at hall 3.1, booth A-05.
