Machine spiral cuts vegetable non-stop

A new machine claims to be able to spiral cut vegetables non-stop using separate magazines, one for processing and the other for loading. The machine was developed by German company Kronen.

"The Spirello 150 cuts large quantities of vegetables – from carrots and potatoes, to pumpkins, radishes, beetroots, courgettes and celery – into decorative spiral strips. The blades quickly and cleanly cut a vegetable into metre-long strips at speeds of up to 680 revolutions per minute." Kronen said in a press release.

The machine also has a length-adjustable knife which can be used to optionally shorten the strips in an intermittent cycle.

Kronen claims that using their magazines the machine can operate non-stop. Vegetables are held in place by a centring device, which can be adapted to the product according to customer requirements. This makes it possible to process vegetables up to 15 cm in diameter, 30 cm in length and a maximum weight of 2.5 kg. The machine will premiere at Fruit Logistica 2017 and can be found at hall 3.1, booth A-05.
