Kenya & Ukraine may increase agricultural trade

Kenya and Ukraine are looking to increase bilateral trade relations, especially regarding agricultural products. Uktraine is seeking to increase imports of coffee, tea, exotic fruits and nuts from Kenya, while Kenya seeks to increase imports of grain, flour, apples, juice concentrates, seeds and feeds for poultry and fish farming.

These issues were discussed during an official visit of the Ukrainian delegation, headed by the Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister, Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska, Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, Olha Trofimtseva, to the Republic of Kenya, the government's official website reports.

"The sides expressed mutual interest in the export/import of products: Kenyans expressed interest in the import of Ukrainian grain, flour, apples, juice concentrates, seeds and feeds for poultry and fish farming, and Ukraine, in turn, is interested in the increase in imports of coffee, tea, exotic fruits, such nuts as macadamia, and cut flowers from Kenya. Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation got acquainted with the work of a laboratory at KEPHIS,” reads a report.
