Savagri looking to place its blood oranges on the German and Scandinavian markets

"There is 50% less produce than last year and prices are increasing due to lower yields and better quality. We started harvesting the Tarocco variety one week ago," explains Antonino, Ettore and Fabio Sava from Savagri.

All the produce cultivated by the company is organic, as per the certifications (click here).

Savagri grows various qualities of PGI blood oranges, Moro, Tarocco and Sanguinello which, thanks to the special micro-climate of the Etna region, develop the typical red pigmentation rich in anthocyanins. "The objective is to become available abroad, especially in Germany and Scandinavia. We know that these countries appreciate blood oranges."

The company manages to maintain a direct relationship with its clients via its website. "We invite people to open their homes to the flavour of Sicilian citrus fruit. We supply high-quality fresh seasonal products at a competitive price."

The range includes: Tarocco juice oranges (smaller oranges suitable to make juice in practical 15 kg bags); Nova clementines (ripening between mid-December to late January); Mandalate (similar to tangerines, ripening between mid-February and late April); lemons, Navelina oranges (blonde oranges with a thick peel, medium juiciness and no seeds); Tarocco oranges, Sanguinello oranges (typical blood oranges with a deep flavour and colour, ripening between mid-December and late January/early February); extra-virgin olive oil.

"Thanks to various clones, we can supply our clients with fresh Tarocco oranges until spring. This year, consumption has changed and online sales have increased. Our idea is to use our e-commerce for sales abroad too."

"We are interesting in sales channels looking for organic PGI blood oranges. We offer high-quality produce and reliable supplies."
