Environmentally friendly fresh produce packaging

Sarco Packaging presents environmentally friendly packaging for all types of fresh produce.
The REV Punnet packaging is 100 per cent recyclable. In addition to the ecological synthetic used, this packaging makes no use of metals clips to close the packaging. By heating the ends of the net, it is sealed closed. For larger boxes, the net is only stretched over the top, and the ends are glued to the box. In both cases, metal clips are unnecessary.

“We are aware of the market becoming more environmentally conscious, and of the increasing demand for completely recyclable packaging,” says owner Jaap van der Sar from Sarco Packaging. “For example, look at the packaging which has been entirely made from fresh products, such as tomatoes. Various things are being thought of to limit further damaging the environment. Naturally, we are trying to contribute towards this. We, for example, do this by presenting 100 per cent recyclable packaging.”

“Besides this environmentally aware choice, appearances naturally also count. The traditional punnet packaging have fortunately not changed regarding appearance. Because of the wide range in colours for the chosen net, we will always have a colour to match your product. Additionally, the packaging is provided with an environmentally friendly label all round, allowing for plenty of space for product markings, and the product can also be lifted by these,” Van der Sar continues.

The REV Punnet techniques are applied to various sizes and types of packaging. Yet it is possible to use one machine for five completely different types of packaging. “The versatility of this one machine makes it possible to package your product in five different ways.”
