Spain: Launch of promotional tour for Ambrosia apples

During the last two weeks of November, Ambrosia, the naturally divine apple, will go on a promotional tour in both wholesale and retail markets. The cities chosen for these promotional events are Madrid and Barcelona.

Ambrosia is an apple with a sweet and slightly sour taste which stands out because of its crunchiness. Its varicoloured skin, both red and yellow, makes it easily recognisable at first sight.

In both cities, the greengrocers visiting the wholesale market will be able to learn first-hand about the qualities of Ambrosia apples and taste the product they are buying. On Thursday 24 November, it will be available in Madrid, and on 28 and 29 November in Mercabarna. Furthermore, fruit sellers will be given a welcome pack to decorate their stores with the image of the Ambrosia and will be able to participate in the raffles that Ambrosia is organising for the new campaign, with prizes such as a trip to Italy (the country where this fruit is grown) and a kit of professional clothing.

At the same time, this action will be carried out in retail markets, where the final consumer will have a chance to taste the sweetness of the Ambrosia, buy it from any of various fruit stores in the market and take home a selection of promotional gifts.

In Madrid, the Ambrosia will be present on Thursday 24 November at the Chamartín Market and on Friday 25 November at the La Paz Market. The following week, in Barcelona, it will be on 30 November at the Concepción Market and on 1 December in the Market of the Ninot.

The objective of these promotions is not just to boost the presence of the Ambrosia, but also stimulate sales and allow fruit stores to explore the world of the Ambrosia by taking part in the various raffles to be organised as part of the promotional campaign.
