New Octubrina clementine season kicks off

AMT Fruit, part of the Munoz Group, and one of the UK’s leading citrus specialists, have welcomed in the new season of the Octubrina clementine. The variety, launched exclusively with Tesco two years ago, now enters its third year of exportable production and continues to impress customers and growers alike.

Lorna Norrington, AMT Fruit Commercial Manager:
“Our partnership with Tesco recognizes the importance new variety
development has in improving citrus quality. Octubrina is just one of many varieties we will be able to delight customers with over the coming years.”

With attributes similar to the iconic Clemenules variety – sweet; juicy and easy to peel- Octubrina’s excellent quality “stands out” against other current early season clementine varieties. It has the potential to revolutionise soft citrus quality for consumers at this time in the season.

Octubrina has been developed in conjunction with the leading variety specialist company - Citrus Genesis – which is part of The Munoz Group.

David Alba, General Manager of Citrus Genesis, commented:
“We are delighted with the feedback we are getting from all stakeholders on Octubrina. As the trees are maturing they are really showing outstanding yields and fantastic fruit quality attributes”.
