China will spend 10 million dollars on the construction of an Agricultural Technologies Demonstration Centre in Angola. The confirmation was made on Monday 24 October in Luanda by the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Cui Aimin, during the signing ceremony of the 'Implementation Agreement of the Project of Agricultural Technologies Demonstration Centre to Help Angola'.
On the occasion, Cui Aimin considered the project a donation of the Chinese government to the Angolan government, aimed at strengthening agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
He said that the implementation of this project aims to provide technical training and to enhance the industrialisation of agriculture, which will provide a platform for exchanges between Angola and China.
The Secretary of State for Agriculture, José Amaro Tati, said the agreement signed between the two countries will significantly contribute to the agricultural development of the country.
The infrastructure, to be built in the Agricultural Experimental Station of Mazozo of the Agronomic Research Institute in Icolo and Bengo, Luanda, will occupy an area of 54 hectares, with areas for the production and processing of food, the demonstration of cultivation and animal breeding, as well as offices and accommodation.
The centre will be equipped with agricultural machinery and other equipment needed for agricultural production, technical demonstration, research and development.
The construction of this project, to start in December this year, will last two years.
