Leo Pels:

"Oronules and Clauselinas oranges are difficult to colour properly"

The Spanish citrus fruit season of Ruleta has started at Leo Pels - for the lemons and tangerines anyway. "We have beautifully coloured tangerines. The naturally coloured Oronules taste perfect and the Clauselinas are beautifully coloured. The lemons are great as well," says Leo. According to the importer, the prices are at a regular level, but the demand is increasing.

One has to wait a bit longer for the first oranges. "This morning, between 4 and 5 o'clock it was already 17 degrees Celsius outside. It is hard to get the oranges to colour properly. We do not want to supply oranges with the colour of lemons, of course, so the first arrivals will take another three weeks."

Leo has two brands, the Ruleta and Bonaparte, with which he distinguishes himself. "A brand is alright, but it is all about what is in the crate. If the contents are good, the clients are prepared to pay for it."
