Agreement signed for REGAL’IN apple in Italy

After signing a sole agreement in 2015 with the Blue Whale Group for the development of the REGAL’IN apple in France, it is now the turn of the Apofruit group to sign a sole agreement for its development in Italy. Within the scope of these agreements, and according to the results of experimentation in the different areas of production, both of the major actors in the apple sector will make a first planting of 100 hectares.

The first tests at the level of retailers will be carried out this year, but the apple has been a success in consumer tests carried out so far.

Other agreements are being negotiated in both hemispheres. REGAL’INTM REGALYOU (pbr) is the first variety of Agro Selections Fruits to integrate the apple sector in the concept REGAL’INTM, that offers a multi-species range (peach - nectarine - apricot - cherries and apple) that meets the expectations of the majority of consumers: crunchy fruit, with a flavor that combines the perfect balance between sugar, acidity and aroma.

REGAL’INTM REGALYOU (pbr) is harvested at the end of September with a very luminous red to pink red coloration on about 90% of the fruit. With a regular cylindrical form, it presents a strong visual appeal and a skin with low sensitivity to blemishes. Its taste potential is high, with a fine, crunchy texture and strong juiciness.

With its semi-sweet flavor (Brix superior to 15, slightly acid, aromatic), it maintains its gustative specificities and its firmness in preservation over 10 months in normal cold.

Resistant to scab, its weak level of sensitivity to powdery mildew and to aphids, its non alternance, regardless of its harvest size, as well as the non sensitivity of the harvests to pre-harvest and preservation diseases make it a good performer for producers.
