Ever wanted to delve into the workings of a top-class storage and logistics operator? Intrigued by the ins and outs of handling, packing, storage and distribution on an international level? Then don’t miss out on this action-packed tour of the family-owned Agro Merchants Group.

The Agro Merchants Group tour will take place on the morning of Friday November 4, from 08.30-16.00, and will begin at their Opticool facility, an area comprising 19,000 square metres of temperature-controlled space, located in the Port of Rotterdam. Here you will find out all about their key fresh produce logistics services; inbound transport, warehousing, inspections, repackaging, and retail labelling.

Next you will be treated to a relaxing two hour boat trip from the Port of Rotterdam, Europe's largest sea-port, totalling more than 40km in size, with an impressive annual throughput of some 465 million tonnes, to Maasvlakte 2 and the Hook of Holland. Enjoy a delicious lunch courtesy of Agro Merchants Group onboard while you cruise!

Lastly, the tour will conclude with a visit to ADB Cool Company, a family business that was founded over 80 years ago and acquired by the Agro Merchant Group in April 2015. Arriving at approximately 14.00, tour participants will visit and learn about ADB's modern facilities available for the storage, treatment and logistical handling of perishables with 150,000 cubic metres comprising 15,000 pallets, 48 cooling and freezer rooms, all with the ability to set the temperature between -25°C and 55°C. This state of the art facility combines the newest generation cooling and freezer rooms with moveable racks and direct access to eleven dock corridors leading to cooling and freezer rooms, and sorting and packing rooms.

Whatever your role within the fresh produce industry, this tour has something to offer everyone. The day’s itinerary will give a truly unique insight into the logistics of working with fresh produce, with experts on hand at every step, armed with a wealth of information to share with you.

Tickets will sell quickly so be sure not to miss out and register here for just €99+VAT per person. Lunch and travel to and from the Hilton Amsterdam is included.* Participants should return to the Hilton Amsterdam at approximately 16.00.
