Early honey orange season starts

Right after the national holiday, the early ripe honey oranges go on sale. Several villages in Guizhou and Hubei are starting to harvest the oranges one by one.

Because the autumn was very dry this year, the amount of honey oranges is lower. They are also smaller than previous years. But as the weather is sunny, the oranges get a lot of sunning time. As a result, the oranges are sweeter than previous years.

Because it is the early variety and they are ripe during the national holiday, the price has slightly risen. Before the holidays, the price was at 0.8 RMB per kg. Now prices are at 0.9 RMB per kg. The oranges have a clean, thin peel with tender and sweet fruit flesh. They are very popular in the South of China. The supply season should last until the end of October.
