Polish apple exporter eyes mango & citrus imports
"We already import from Spain and Greece and are looking to fill in the gap specifically for lemons and oranges. We just finished up with watermelon and oranges from Egypt, and are now receiving the last four trucks of citrus from Greece for the juice industry." shared Mohamed Marawan, Managing Director.

"We have a really good relationship with Spain and I have really appreciated the relationships we were able to form there, and now we are looking further afield to cover the gap once the Spanish season ends. We started dealing in oranges at the end of the season and I look forward to being able to continue because I really enjoy working with citrus."
Summer fruits are in full swing in Poland. Peaches, plums, nectarines, strawberries just finished and cherries and are just starting.
"Starting to work in the wholesale market is a work in progress. I would like to cut out the middle man because our customers are traders and are not the end user, so going through markets like the Netherlands and Germany are not viable price wise." said Marawan.
Mazafruits is set to start trialling mangoes from Egypt for the Polish market to see how they are received.
"We started with apples and now we are becoming busy with other fruits in the import market. We are still going through the phytosanitary process with mangoes, bringing over samples to check that everything is up to par. I am really excited about bringing the Egyptian mango to the Polish market. It is really tasty and sweet and the perfect mango for eating." concluded Marawan.
