Symach and Wiskerke Onions celebrate ten-year partnership

This year Symach and Wiskerke Onions celebrate their ten-year partnership. This partnership started at the end of 2005 with the delivery of a palletizer, when John de Bat of Symach entered into his first agreement with Jaap Wiskerke. Due to the strong growth, Wiskerke Onions soon needed more capacity, extra options and better internal logistics. More Symach palletizers followed, as well as wrapping machines, corner-setting and strapping machines, and a pallet transport system, from palletizer to dispatch. In order to fit everything in well, and to disrupt production as little as possible, Symach appointed Iman Koopman as project manager. Koopman, together with Bob Salm, managed to deliver the projects according to schedule.

“We know from experience that occasionally problems need to be solved when working on these kinds of challenging projects. That is why the design is created in such a way that, no matter the circumstances, people can continue working as much as possible. Due to the very high weight of the pallets, the transport system did not function properly at first. Fortunately, it was already in the design that the pallets would continue to move. In a short time a guide was added to the system, solving the problems. Solving problems quickly inspires confidence,” says John de Bat.

Recently, an existing palletizer with a wrapping machine was moved, and a new corner-setting strapping machine was installed. In doing so, another project was completed.

Mutual trust is large and the cooperation between Symach, Chayenne Wiskerke and Bob Salm of Wiskerke Onions is excellent. Chayenne Wiskerke on the cooperation: “The large volumes and the export to 95 countries place high demands on the logistics of Wiskerke Onions. For this, we need strong partners such as Symach. Symach always thinks together with us, offers customised designs, reliable machines and excellent service. And it is also pleasant doing business with them on a personal level.”
